The Road To Paradise
A little yet meaningful story from Aysha....Jazakillah...
Every Friday afternoon, after the Juma prayers,
the Imam and his eleven year old son would go out into their town
and hand out "PATH TO PARADISE" and other Islamic literature.
This particular and fortunate Friday afternoon, as the time came
for the Imam and his son to go to the streets with their booklets,
it was very cold outside, as well as pouring rain.
The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said,
'OK, dad, I'm ready!'His dad asked, 'Ready for what' 'Dad,
it's time we go out and distribute these Islamic books.'
Dad responds, 'Son, it's very cold outside and
it's pouring rain.'
The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, 'But Dad,
aren't people still going to hell, even though it's raining?'
Dad answers, 'Son, I am not going out in this weather.' Despondently,
the boy asks, 'Dad, can I go Please' His father hesitated for a moment
then said, 'Son, you can go. Here are the booklets. Be careful son.'
'Thanks, Dad!'
And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy
walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody
he met in the street a pamphlet or a booklet.
After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet
and down to his VERY LAST BOOKLET.
He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a booklet to,
but the streets were totally deserted. Then he turned toward
the first home he saw and started up the Side walk to the front door
and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered..
Finally, he turned to leave, but something stopped him. Again,
he turned to the door and rang the bell and knocked loudly on the door
with his fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch!
He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.
Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady.
She softly asked, 'What can I do for you, son?' With radiant eyes
and a smile that lit up her world, this little boy said, 'Ma'am,
I'm sorry if I disturbed you, but I just want to tell you
that ALLAH REALLY LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU and I came to give you
my very last booklet
which will tell you all about God, the real purpose of creation,
and how to achieve His pleasure.' With that, he handed her
his last booklet and turned to leave. She called to him as he
departed. 'Thank you, son! And God Bless You!'
Next week on Friday afternoon after Juma prayers, the Imam was giving
some lectures. As he concludes the lectures, he asked, '
Does anybody have questions or want to say anything?' Slowly,
in the back row among the ladies, an elderly lady's voice was heard
over the speaker.
'No one in this gathering knows me. I've never been here before.
You see, before last Friday I was not a Muslim, and thought
I could be. My husband died few years ago, leaving me totally alone
in this world.. Last Friday, being a particularly cold and rainy day,
I was contemplating suicide as I had no hope left.
So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the attic of my home..
I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof then stood
on the chair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck.
Standing on that chair, so lonely and broken- hearted.
I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell
downstairs startled me.
I thought, I'll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.
I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louder and
more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly....
I thought to myself again, 'Who on earth could this be?
Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me.' I loosened the rope
from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell
rang louder and louder.
When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes,
for there on my front porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy
I had ever seen in my life. His SMILE, oh, I could never describe
it to you! The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that
had long been dead TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a
cherub-like voice, 'Ma'am, I just came to tell you that:
ALLAH REALLY LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU!'
Then he gave me this booklet, Path To Paradise that I now hold in my hand.
As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain,
I closed my door and read slowly every word of this book.
Then I went up to my attic to get my rope and chair.
You see? I am now a Happy Vicegerent of the One True God.
Since the address of your congregation was stamped on the back of
this booklet, I have come here to personally say THANK YOU to God's
little angel who came just in the nick of time and by so doing,
spared my soul from an eternity in hell.'
The shouts of TAKBIR.. ALLAH AKBAR.. rented the air.
Imam-Dad descended from the pulpit to the front row where
the little angel was seated....
He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.
Probably no jama'at has had a more glorious moment, and
probably this universe has never seen a father that was more filled
with love and honor for his son...
This very one...Blessed are your eyes for reading this message.
Remember, God's message CAN make the difference in the life
of someone close to you.
Q 5:3: This day I've perfected your religion for you, and completed
my favor on you, and chose Islam for you as religion.
Please keep pray for all the needful and painful people in
this planet and look after each other.

My heart...
Epilogue
Today is 5th Feb 2010. Yesterday was 4th Feb 2010.
4th Feb 1998 was the registration day for me; first day in secondary school. 12 years had passed and seems like nothing changed much in myself except for the level of maturity. Knowledge wise perhaps, a bit of improvement. Being an adult , trespassing the boundary of teenage makes me realize how important i am now, as a part of family and as a part of community. People may look at me from several perspectives and as do my parents. They view me as someone special and do not let me going away from their dreams and hopes. Yes even now, my life is still being shaped by them and governed by their orders. When my dad fall sick last few months, i was really afraid that he could not get the chance to see me receiving the scroll; signifying that i am qualified for my job. Alhamdulillah , he is recovering now and tremendously improved. I am so amazed on how sudden things happened. All were God's plans that we as human could not go against the destiny. I remember my phone conversation with my maternal uncle regarding how a father looks at his children, especially a daughter. A father will only feel a huge relief once his daughter completed her life with her own family ,own kids and succeed in work. In other word, a compilation of success.......But every fathers have their own definition for success. As for my dad, he has his own too. A strike at this point of my life, though i find it very hurtful, but it may benefit me in my future. Allah knows best. Sharing about my heart, your hearts and our hearts. It is your choice to choose or not to.....
Healthy heart
People always talk about healthy heart. We may come across a situation ( or perhaps a lot) whereby we forgot about taking good care of heart. I used to feel sad when my properties were broken or my things got scratched, but never being bothered when my heart got scratched. I am not talking about being hurt or whatsoever, rather i am considering about the black dots implanted on my heart.
On the Day of Resurrection, only those who come to God with a healthy heart will be saved. God says:
"The Day on which neither wealth nor sons will be of any use, except for whoever brings to God a sound heart." [Quran 26: 88-89]
In defining the healthy heart, the following has been said: "It is a heart cleansed from any passion that challenges what God commands, or disputes what He forbids. It is free from any impulses which contradict His good. As a result, it is safeguarded against the worship of anything other than Him, and seeks the judgment of no other except that of His Messenger. Its services are exclusively reserved for God, willingly and lovingly, with total reliance, relating all matters to Him, in fear, hope, and sincere dedication. When it loves, its love is in the way of God. If it detests, it detests in the light of what He detests. When it gives, it gives for God. If it withholds , it withholds for God. Nevertheless, all this will not suffice for its salvation until it is free from following, or taking as its guide, anyone other than His Messenger .
A servant with a healthy heart must dedicate it to its journeys end and not base his actions and speech on those of any other person except God's Messenger . He must not give any precedence to any other faith, words or deeds over those of God and His Messenger. God says:
"O you who have attained to faith! Do not put yourselves forward in the presence of [what] God and His Apostle [may have ordained], but remain conscious of God: for, verily, God is all-hearing, all-knowing! " [Quran 49:1]
The Dead Heart
This is the opposite of the healthy heart. It does not know its Lord and does not worship Him as He commands, in the way which He likes, and with which He is pleased. It clings instead to its lust and desires, even if these are likely to incur God's displeasure and wrath. It worships things other than God, and its love and its hatreds, and its giving and its withholding, arise from its whims, which are of paramount importance to it and preferred above the pleasure of God. Its whims are its imam. Its lust is its guide. Its ignorance is its leader. Its crude impulses are its impetus. It is immersed in its concern with worldly objectives. It is drunk with its own fancies and its love for hasty, fleeting pleasures. It is called to God and the akhirat from a distance but it does not respond to advice, and instead it follows any scheming, cunning Shaytan . Life angers and pleases it, and passion makes it deaf and blind to anything except what is evil. To associate and keep company with the owner of such a heart is to tempt illness, living with him is like taking poison, and befriending him means utter destruction.
The Sick Heart
This is a heart with life in it as well as illness. The former sustains it at one moment, the latter at another, and it follows whichever one of the two manages to dominate it. It has love for God, faith in Him, sincerity towards Him, and reliance upon Him, and these are what give it life. It also has a craving for lust and pleasure, and prefers them and strives to experience them. It is full of self-admiration, which can lead to its own destruction. It listens to two callers: one calling it to God and His Prophet and the Hereafter; and the other calling it to the fleeting pleasures of this world. It responds to whichever one of the two happens to have most influence over it at the time. The first heart is alive, submitted to God, humble, sensitive, and aware; the second is brittle and dead; the third wavers between either its safety or its ruin.
One and everything,
Fad...
