A Promise

العَهْدُ

هي خيرَ زوجةٍ عن آمَنٍ الله بِها

هي في قَلبي وَبِكُلِّ مالي أكْفِيها

صابِرَةٌ عَامِلةٌ في بَيتِها

أُشْهِد اللهَ أنّي راضٍ عَنْها

أَعَاهِدُ الله أنْ أكُونَ مُخْلِصاً

أَعَاهِدُ الله أنْ أكُونَ وَفِيّاً

أَعَاهِدُ الله ما ما كُلِّ يُقارِبُنا

أَعَاهِدُ الله ما ما كُلِّ عَشِيْرَتِنا

فَاليَوْم اليَوْمَ عُرْسُنا

كُوْنِيْ صَدِيْقَتِي وَأُخْتِي وَكُلَّ ما تَشآءِ

قَاصِمِيْنِيْ, أحْدَبِي وَكُلَّ ما تُعَانِي

حِيْنَ يَسِيرُ دَمْعُكِ وَيَصِيْرُ قَلْبُكِ عَلِيّ

أمْسَح وَبِرُوحِي وَقَيَانِيْ

أَعَاهِدُ الله أنْ أكُونَ مُخْلِصاً

أَعَاهِدُ الله أنْ أكُونَ وَفِيّاً

أَعَاهِدُ الله ما ما كُلِّ يُقارِبُنا

أَعَاهِدُ الله ما ما كُلِّ عَشِيْرَتِنا

فَاليَوْم اليَوْمَ عُرْسُنا

فِي كُلِّ يَوْمِ يَزْدَادُ شَوْقِي لَكِ

رَفِيْقَةَ دَرْبِيْ

جَمَالُكِ يَسْمُو فِي عَيْنِي

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ صَوَّرَكِ وَأهْدانِي إيَّاكِ

يا أعْلَى نِعْمَةِ وَهَبَنِي اللهُ أنْتِ

حَتَّى إذا ضَاقَتْ مِنَ الأيَّام

وَاسْوَدَّ الأُفُقُ وَقَاعَتِ الأمَل

أُصِيْصُ أمَلٍ فِي عَيْنَيْكِ

يُحْيِيْنِيْ مِنْ جَدِيْد

Hiya khayra zawjatin ‘an amaniLLahu biha

Hiya fi qalbi wa bikulli maali akfiha

Sobiratun ‘amilatun fi baytiha

Ush-hidullahu anni radhin ‘anha

U’aahidullah an akuna mukhlison

U’aahidullah an akuna wafiyyan

U’ahidullah ma ma kulli yuqoribina

U’ahidullah ma ma kulli ‘asyirotina

Falyawm, alyauma ’ursuna

kuuni sodiiqoti wa ukhti wa kulla ma tashaai

Qoshimiini, ahdabi wa kulla ma tu’aani

Hiina yasiru dam’uki wa yashiru qolbuki ‘alii

Amsah wa bi ruhi wa qayani

U’aahidullah an akuna mukhlison

U’aahidullah an akuna wafiyyan

U’ahidullah ma ma kulli yuqoribina

U’ahidullah ma ma kulli ‘asyirotina

Falyawm, alyauma ’unshuna

Fi kulli yaumin, yazdadu syawqi laki

Rofiqota darbi

Jamaluki yasmu fi ‘ayni

Subhana man showwaroki wa ahdani iyyaki

Ya a’la ni’mati Wahabanillahu anti

Hatta iza dhoqot bina al-ayyam

Wa aswadda al-ufuqu Wa qo’atil amal

Ushiishu amalin fi ‘aynayki

Yuhyiini min jadid

A Promise

Oh precious one, my wife, my love The Creator granted you to me You are In my heart For thee I would sacrifice All that I have... All I am Patient you are, In a labor of love, Bringing light to a home once dark And God is my witness That I am happy with you




A promise to God, that I will be faithful A promise to God, that I will be sincere A promise to God, before all our loved ones A promise to God, before our families For today... is the day we wed

Be my friend, my companion... Be all that you want to be Share with me... your dreams.. and all you suffer and feel When your tears flow like a spring from the depth of your heart Let my soul dry them away Let my being protect you always



Every day... I long for your more and more My companion... your beauty fills my eyes Glorified is the One Who fashioned you And granted me your precious presence Even if a day shall come When dark clouds fill the sky And no hope can be found... in the distant horizon The light in your eyes... will bring me back to life
